Who we are

i-Scout is operated as a sole trader business domiciled in the Republic of Ireland. We provide an AI-powered collectables monitoring and appraisal service. For all data and privacy enquiries, contact us at [email protected].

As a business operating within the European Union, we are subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts. We take our obligations under these laws seriously.

What data we collect and why

We collect only the information you provide to us directly, and only for the purpose of delivering your i-Scout service. This includes:

• Your name — to personalise your service and communications
• Your email address — to send you Scout alerts, appraisal reports, and service notifications
• Your Scout brief — the categories, descriptions, keywords, budget and preferences you provide so we can configure your Scout accurately
• Payment information — handled entirely and securely by Stripe. We never see, store, or process your card details directly

We do not collect any data beyond what is necessary to provide your service. We do not use cookies for tracking, we do not use advertising, and we do not build profiles for any purpose other than delivering your Scout brief.

Who we share your data with

We share your data only with the following third-party services, each of which is strictly engaged in fulfilling your service as directed by you:

• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. Their privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy
• Resend — transactional email delivery (your alerts and appraisal reports). Their privacy policy is at resend.com/privacy
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI vision and analysis powering your Scout appraisals. Data submitted for analysis is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy
• eBay — your Scout monitors publicly available eBay listings. No personal data is shared with eBay

We do not sell, rent, license, or otherwise share your personal data with any other third party for any purpose whatsoever.

How long we keep your data

Your data is retained for the duration of your active subscription. Once your subscription is cancelled:

• Your Scout is deactivated immediately
• All personal data associated with your account is scheduled for deletion
• Complete deletion occurs within 60 days of cancellation

You may request immediate deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. We will action all deletion requests within 5 working days.

Your rights under GDPR

As a data subject under GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right of access — you may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — you may ask us to correct any inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — you may ask us to delete your data at any time
• Right to restriction — you may ask us to restrict how we use your data
• Right to data portability — you may request your data in a portable format
• Right to object — you may object to our processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ireland at dataprotection.ie.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include:

• All data transmitted to and from i-Scout is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and never touches our servers
• Access to subscriber data is restricted to the service operator only
• Third-party services used are each compliant with applicable data protection standards

Cookies

i-Scout does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. The only cookies present on this site are those set by Stripe during the payment checkout process, which are strictly necessary for payment processing and are governed by Stripe's own cookie policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy & Data Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify active subscribers by email. Continued use of i-Scout after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
